Jermick Wawoe (1985) is a visionary artist with a focus on ‘unique complex pattern’ ink drawings. These complex patterns are the attributes and characteristics of his artistic identity and are created from the necessity to give a voice to the journey of his soul. T H E S AN S A L V A D O R is inspired by the journey of Christopher Columbus. He had promised gold to the king and queen of Spain, in exchange for ships. Against all odds and after overcoming many obstacles, Columbus did not find gold or find a faster route to Asia, but discovered something bigger than what his goal was…
He has discovered a new world.
As Columbus, Jermick went on a journey and started at the Willem de Kooning Academy (Rotterdam, The Netherlands). His goal was to be a better drawer. But after overcoming his personal and artistic obstacles through his 5 years of study, Jermick has discovered his new world.
The San Salvador collection is not just a fashion collection but an art collection. Jermick Wawoe used clothes as a way to express himself by using them as canvas. Then he had drawn and painted his unique complex patterns. The clothes aren’t clothes anymore but become a piece of art full of hidden emotions of the artist. The main goal of this collection is to inspired people.
He has been working patiently for nearly 3 years to complete 58 pieces of the art collection. All will be reveal during the entrancing & mysterious experience beyond ordinary understanding.
